Davis Products Co.

I believe many of the fixtures and fittings in an early Airstream depended on who won the tender to supply the equipment that year. Well, in my mind Wally and Co. hit the jackpot with this tender winner from the Davis Products Co.

Installed in a 1955 Safari which hit the Ohio line late 1954 and rolled off in early 1955 after one the hottest winters on record.

I removed the interior to replace the floor and when the front kitchen work surface was lifted I found a scrunched single page of a newspaper with tape on the edge. I guess is must have been 'old news' that was put to reuse for masking panels.

Mrs Marguerite Krause Woods died at her home aged 66. I wonder what this lady was like, she had a lovely name.

And finally, there was a deal to be done on some fine looking under garments down Petticoat Lane. If only I get my hands on some of those....

  1. Nice details, Sam. And nice photos too. I love these little discarded snippets - a wee time-tunnel. Good luck on your search for those retro undergarments; I'm sure they're vital for that period feel (though your better half might think otherwise).

  2. does that fridge fire up? I wonder how well they work after all these years. With no moving parts there is very little to break down.
